Name: Felix due (12/30)
Location: Arlington, VA
Color Inspiration: The cover of my husband's childhood French copy of 'Tintin L'Ile Noire' by Herge and illustrated by Casterman. He has every copy and has handed them down to our first son and now soon to be our second.
Tip for Using Color: For a child's room, one can't go wrong with too much color. Color has the power to transform a space or even piece of furniture into something magnificent. We all need color in our lives!
Colors Used: Trim: Dove White, Benjamin Moore. Wall: Desert Tan, Benjamin Moore. Stencil: Sheer Romance, Benjamin Moore. Accent Colors: Red, True Blue, Dark Teal, Shades of Green.
Thanks for your colorful entry Danielle and good luck!

Shaw's Original Fir...
wow! this was so well done. is that stenciling or wallpaper? love the subtle pops of coral....the art, and extra long drapes.
wow! You had me at Tintin, but the walls really push it over the edge. love!
Love the stenciling! Gorgeous!
As much as I love Tin Tin (my husband also has the complete works ready to pass down to our daughter), the nursery itself seems verrrry feminine and soft.
Very nicely done. Love the dresser, where is it from?
way to go danielle and seb. the room is beautiful. iespecially love the art work and the dresser arrangement
Gorgeous! Especially love the red accents. :)
I love it all, especially the wall treatment!
Absolutely lovely and great pop of colors and mix of old and new.
great curtains!
What a charming boy's room. I love the way you carried the color scheme throughout the room. And whoever stenciled the walls is really brave and extremely patient.
This room is gorgeous! It almost makes me want to have another baby :) I love how peaceful this room is. All babies, boy or girl, should have a room this serene and calm.
So beautiful!
Love this room!
love the stenciling!
I immediately fell in love with the room from the first photograph. Then I got to the photo of the name bunting and it pushed me over the top! A+ on the room and the baby name! Did you make or buy the stencil?
An inspired wall treatment and truly lovely room.
My only quibble is that the room needs more book shelves (perhaps behind the bed, from the corner to the door, face-front of course) and shelving, too. Felix is going to need somewhere to keep his Tintin collectable figurines...!
Love the room. It's so peaceful with lots of fun things to look at. Great job. Love the stencil work, too.
This room is beautiful. Such a calm and tranquil setting for a new baby.
Thanks so much for the lovely comments everyone!
@VikulyaD...the dresser is vintage that I bought off of Craigslist. Type in Mid Century Modern in your local Craigslist and you may find something similar, which may need paint if you like that look.
@dancingfork...I bought the stencil from cutting edge stencils online. It was called Mermaid I believe. And thanks so much for your super sweet comments!!
Oops I was logged into my husbands account...I don't go by higgins. Just wanted to clarify! xx Danielle
I love this room! It's so bright and cheerful- really the perfect room for a new baby. The stenciling is fantastic!
