I recently saw some beautiful felted soap for sale on Etsy. I was immediately intrigued. I heard word that felted soaps are really great for exfoliating in the shower, and lather up quite nicely. My instinct was that they would really help create more ‘suds’ for that last little bit of soap that is so small and can so easily be forgotten about (and ends up dissolving on the side of my tub). It's also easy to make, and a great gift idea if you’re looking to give away something that’s homemade. Learn how it's made, or for some finished products, check out SoFin's beautiful creations after the jump!
Basically, felt is created from wool - all you do is wrap some wool around the bar of soap, get the bar of soap wet, and agitate. What I plan on doing when I make mine, is letting the suds from the felting process accumulate into a bowl, which I will then use to clean my floors—waste not want not! Another option is to just wrap the soap with wool, and felt it in the shower next time you use it!

Nomade Express Slee...
I got one of these as a gift, it's actually remarkably difficult to get the soap to come out through it's little soap-sweater! I barely use it:(
hahahahahaha. This is such a silly idea.
I can just imagine this getting really disgusting
I got one of these as a gift and I thought it worked great. Once the soap runs out I plan to use it for liquid soap instead of a washcloth.
I make and use felted soaps, and they're fabulous. :)
