I've never hated someone for having left over fence posts before. Well not hate-hate more like that "super jealous fake hate thing." So if you upgraded your fence and had a few posts left over, would you think to make the most amazing (and simple) diy bench in the world? Morgan Satterfield did!
Over at The Brick House they recently spent a few hundred dollars and a weekend repairing their old beaten down fence. As a result there were a few old posts left over from the project. Some of us would have put them on Craigslist, others would have stashed them for a project and a few might have just tossed them — they're old fence posts right?
Instead, Morgan decided that they would work perfectly with some Eames LTR bases they had salvaged from another piece of furniture. Braces were added to hold all the pieces together and just like that, they have the most amazing diy bench in the history of diy benches. This one gets extra marks for being relatively simple and having a high style impact on the bedroom it was destined for.
Doesn't it look ridiculously elegant? You can see the full process over at The Brick House, but we warn you, you'll hate them too once you start looking at it, but remember, fake hate is love on the internet! Go be jealous!

Shaw's Original Fir...
I saw this on her blog earlier today, and it makes me want to stab my eyes out with jealousy. So awesome!
lol, agreed russetstreet! it looks fabulous!
There was a stack of fence posts out on the curb in my neighborhood, and I didn't know what to do with more than one. So I took the one home and made it into a scratching post that my cat just adores. (Although it generates a little pile of wood dust every time she uses it.)
i. love. the. bench.
OMG I love that bench! Where do you find the hardware for the underside?
I'd also like to know about the underside hardware. I'd use new wood, but I'd like to have a bench like that.
That bench is awesome!
The hardware looks almost the same as the Eames wire based table.

Why does nobody click on the link to see what it is instead of asking here?
Ok, for everybody who doesn't want to click on the link for some reason.....
It is the Eames wire base table hardware. Morgan had bought an old, cheap, beaten up Eames table a long time ago and decided to use the base of the table to make this bench.
Love it! Wonder where I could dig up those legs for cheap.....
yes, it is amazing.
and, yes, i do hate you.
Oh good. A bubble lamp...
faboulous !!
