Feng Shui may not be for everyone, but we definitely believe the placement of furniture and organization of a room can create an atmosphere- and essentially- positive or negative energy. And we think we can all agree we want our nursery to be a place of peace, joy, and good feelings. Well, if you're just creating your nursery, or even if you've already set up your nursery, but you just feel like something is off- consider taking a look at Laura Forbes Carlin's book, "The Peaceful Nursery". A few tips from Laura that might be helpful in getting you started: 1) Put your crib in a command position- with a view of the doorway and against at least one wall. She doesn't recomment putting the crib against a window or below a ceiling fan. 2) Focus the nursery around sleep by going with soft, relaxing colors and using dimmer switches. 3) Eliminate extra clutter and use furniture with storage space. The book is available at Amazon or you can check out Laura's website- "Art of Everyday Living". If anyone has any ideas for a more feng shui nursery- let us know!
