Boy's Circus Inspired Bedroom

We know it's only Thursday, but we're already crowning this the coolest thing of the week. The entire circus-inspired room is delightful and we're especially gaga for the ferris wheel toy storage. The room was put together by Kansas City-based photo stylist Kate Dixon and was commissioned as part of the 41st Symphony Designer Showhouse Tour in Kansas City (running through May 16th). We're accustomed to seeing a circus theme in nurseries, but love this more grown up version for a boy. Kate tells us more:

I wanted it to be a whimsical room where fun and functionality meet. That's why me and my crew made a giant 7ft tall spinning 'ferris wheel' toy storage unit. I made rugs out of duckcloth and stitched them together to give a patchwork effect, and painted over a photo of my son turning him into the ultimate ringmaster of the room. We took old pallets and created fun built in furniture, and used some great artistic friends of mine from SOWN to do pillows, Jeff Shumway to create amazing circus illustrations, and so much more.

Amazing, Kate - thank you! Readers, you can find Kate at her blog Dixon Style as well as her company Artistic Living Spaces.
