This isn't for your littlest one, but kids as young as 8 years old can take classes including "Cheesemaking". They'll learn how to make fresh mozzerella and ricotta cheese that you can take home with you. According to the course description for "Cooking with Nana", "this is how you can play with your food and eat it too. You will squish tomatoes, roll meat balls, and sculpt your candy into works of art and make cooking a family affair." Finally, the course description of "Treats for the Lunch Box" claims your kids willl find themselves "the envy of the cafeteria". If you're not in the NYC area, we'd still check into cooking schools/classes in your area for something similar. We don't think you can go wrong on this field trip.
