As we get deep into holiday shopping, we're reminded that the two most magical words of the season aren't "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Hanukkah"—but "Free Shipping!"
Those who are in-the-know love to take advantage of Amazon.com's Free Super Saver Shipping option. When you buy $25 or more of qualified merchandise from the online retailer or it's affiliates, you reap the glorious benefit of not having to shell out a dime for shipping.
It's a great bonus, especially when you were buying tons of gifts from Amazon anyway.
But the headache starts when your only purchases total $23.97 and you get that helpful note to "Add $1.03 to your order to qualify for FREE Super Saver Shipping," sending you on an online trek to find something, anything worth a buck and change to add to your order and save you $6.99 in shipping.
That's where Web site Amazon Filler Item comes in. Enter the amount you need for free shipping and it finds you qualifying items from Amazon's Web site that will get you just over the threshold and save you cash!

i always keep around an amazon wishlist of books/cd that i don't need right-this-second and use them as fillers. that way, i don't need to buy things i don't need just to get free shipping. although i do wish this was available for other online stores as well.
