I remember WPIX... eek. Yeah- the real Eddie went to jail- but this guy is an actor.
I remember those ads so well growing up on the Jersey shore. They were on ALL the time. Insaneeeeeeeee
Anyone who lived in NYC or the surrounding areas at the time most definitely remembers this guy.
Its funny, a few weeks ago I was thinking about this, and was hoping someone would revive Crazy Eddie and their advertising campaign.
Someone revives Crazy Eddie every few years. At one point his nephew had opened a couple of stores, then after those closed someone else bought the name to launch an online only electronics store with crazy eddie as the url. Give it a week. He'll be back.
yea i bought stuff there, then "wiz" opened up across the street.
They had price wars, huge sales, lines around the block fighting each other, with crazy eddies sometimes doing seemingly, well, crazy sales. Nobody beats the wiz ended up winning though, think the chain just had more muscle for one thing.
these guys were just a few blocks away from me on kings highway here in bk. i grew up with those commercials, but i also grew up being told not to shop there, cuz half their stuff was hot or faulty.

He uh... sells AV stuff, right? Was real eccentric on tv?
"His prices are... INSANE!"
If you grew up in the tri-state area, these commercials aired frequently on WPIX and WWOR TV. Remember WWOR and WPIX?!

I do remember him. Didn't he end up in jail?
A cursory google search turns up a wikipedia article
