For anyone who's ever struggled with an allen wrench trying to assemble their CHARKOUCHTABLL, your prayers have been answered. Swedish flat-pack furniture giant IKEA has launched a "How to Build" YouTube channel featuring easy-to-follow assembly videos.
The next time you're assembling IKEA furniture and struggling to figure out which screw to use or which way that drawer panel is supposed to face, check in with YouTube and IKEA's brand new How to Build video channel.
The videos are mostly visual, to follow closely along with IKEA's paper instructions, only instead of line illustrations and androgynous marshmallow people, the videos feature real people assembling real IKEA furniture. There's no narration, save for instruction bubbles that pop audibly on the screen to make you reminisce for old episodes of VH1's Pop-Up Video.
Right now, there's only one video featured in the How to Build channel, showing the assembly of IKEA's popular MALM bedframe (above), but we're looking forward to much more.

Great idea. I just wish they would sort their own website, and e-commerce options out first.
There's actually some truth to that stand-up cliche? IKEA's easier to assemble than Lego. And this video is not an improvement on the paper instructions, which have extremely clear line drawings with labeled parts and insertion points.
I admit a little frustration might come from the crappy tools they provide, but there's a simple solution to that: use proper screwdrivers and wrenches. There's no good reason not to have them.
Random and OT, but VH1 is airing new episodes of Pop-Up Video now.
