Better DIY: Take an Opportunity to Learn

Better DIY: Take an Opportunity to Learn

In our community, we've been seeing all sorts of classes—both informal and credit-earning—for green living projects, from installing solar to building raised beds. In fact, there seem to be a lot of community initiatives to get people educated about green living. We're wondering: have you taken any green classes?

Some of these classes could possibly lead to a career shift, which would make sense given the emphasis on green jobs lately. But many classes are just designed to give folks a better chance at successful DIY (installing new low-flow toilets, perhaps?).

We're hoping to look into some of these classes and get a little of know-how from folks who really know what they're doing. We'll finally take that class about raised bed gardening. And hopefully we'll make our home greener in the process.

Are you taking advantage of the green job opportunities?
