Are you someone who likes to keep an eye on their money/investments? Watching various markets is important for a variety of individuals, not just stock traders. Below we list some of our favorite ways to keep in touch with various markets that we watch everyday.

We watch the market out of job necessity everyday. Even though we do not trade natural gas, understanding and being abreast of commodity price movements is very important in the energy industry. Even today professional services like Bloomberg or Thompson Reuters can give you real time data, at a significant cost. Below are some of our favorite methods to keep in touch with the financials we most value.

  1. Bloomberg Apps: We are consummate fans of the Bloomberg applications for the various mobile platforms. Not only do they function flawlessly, their power and user interface is second to none. Thankfully, Bloomberg went ahead and supports nearly any mobile platform meaning if you have a smartphone, you can access the market information you need.
  2. Dashboard Widgets: We have profiled our love of dashboard widgets due to their power to create custom widgets. Simply put, no other system allows us to pull real time Commodities and Mercantile Exchange data without paying a massive subscription fee. Anytime we want to know the price of crude, we just head to dashboard for our information.
  3. Websites: Our least favorite solution, but the easiesr to implement is using websites to checkup on our different items we follow. We have found using places like the Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg.com to corral all the information we need to be cumbersome yet effective in certain circumstances. Using websites means that it is wise to devote the time to figure out your favorite way to bookmark your most pertinent links.

How do you follow your financial data?
