We laughed, we cried, we...picked house paints together. And what a world of difference it has made! Thanks for all of your suggestions and encouragement, dear readers--without you, our house would still be looking like this. So, without further ado, click below the jump to see the end result of our House Paint Project 2008...

After going back and forth on the front door paint color (a lot of squinting and paint chip holding was involved), we finally picked Midnight Navy. And we LOVE IT.
Again, a big thank you to all of you!

I like it!
Gorgeous!!!! Great work.
Love it - great color choices!
What great curb appeal! CUTE
I appreciate your courage: hanging a UVA flag in California is really asking for it after the recent trouncing.
Wahoowa!
Oh yeah, I also like the navy.
it looks great!!
Nice work. I'll bet it feels good.
And the next project will be painting the red brick, right? ;)
Very nice. I liked the beige too, but the new color scheme just looks more polished.
Oh... good ol' UVA. Gotta love your flag!
It turned out wonderfully.
Wahoowa!
It looks beautiful!
Love the color -- and the UVA flag!
Thanks everyone!
Salley: Hahah ye-es..although, it's still not as dangerous as my Celtics flag :).
To all you Wahoos: I have a neighbor a few doors down who has a HUUUUGE VT flag. It's hanging from the second story of his home and almost touches the ground...
What an improvement. I think that old pinkish beige or whatever was the suck.
I like the house color, and love the front door. But, what's a UVA flag? And why is it outside your house? It would be 100% better without it.
I'm already in the minority, as everyone but me seems to know what the flag is all about, but still, the house would be so much more adult without the political message or whatever it is.
Also, I'd love to see some pretty vines growing up each trellis on the sides of the porch. And, maybe a more modern and larger porch light...I'm just sayin...
Oh, and another thing I just noticed...the pots with plants in them on either side of the front door? They don't match! Did you know that?
Maybe when you replace them, you could find some just a weensy bit bigger? Tall, grey metal containers would be great. Just a suggestion...don't get mad...

Great colors!!--now, what to do about that water wasting lawn . . .
Congratulations! Looks fantastic.
Not a football fan so don't love the flag but if you're into it go with it.
Job well done! And love new door color.
Thanks for the explanation about the flag. It's been explained to me that it's a football thing, but I just don't get the point. But, as my sainted mother used to say...wouldn't it be a boring world if we were all the same?
Be that as it may, the house looks very cute.
