iPod and iPhone docks come in a myriad of shapes and colors, but this is the first dock that we've seen that actually doubles as a shelf, which is a really smart idea.
Finite Elemente's new Hohrizontal 51 is what you could call a sound board, and is basically a good-looking iPod and iPhone dock in the shape of a shelf. That's not all. It comes with all of the necessary ports to connect it to your home theater system and a remote control. The load capacity of the shelf is around 55 pounds, but that actually depends on the wall that it's fixed onto, since this is a floating shelf.
We think that it really looks good. The included ports mean that you can connect your HDTV, computer or MP3 player without any problems. The output of the speakers is 2 × 25W. Although it's not yet available for purchase, it's supposed to cost around $660, which is a lot to spend on a shelf or an iPod dock, but we guess that's what you pay for this kind of innovation.

Whoa that's alot. - I think this is something you can hack with an Ikea shelf.
Exactly what I was thinking JimD. Get an Ikea Lack shelf, a hole cutter, some little speakers and an iPod dock - sorted!
PBteen used to sell a pretty awesome shelf with integrated speakers: http://www.marieclaire.com/cm/marieclaire/images/PB-Teen-Modular-Speaker-Double-Shelf-MC-Academic-fb-61255733.jpg
