The "peaceful shade of blue" door looks kinda like a TARDIS. Just a little bit.
I have the brightest door on the block, which does make it easy to tell the pizza guy where to go! It's bright, taxi cab yellow - the rest of the house is gray, and all my flowers are shades of purple. It really is an easy, low cost way to make a big statement.
So what direction should I go with my door if I have a yellow house?
I understand a red front door means the house is owned free and clear, no mortgage. Is this true?
While it isn't a neutral per say, yellow can act as a neutral too, particularly if it is a paler shade. You could paint your door black, grey, red, blue, even purple. The key is to have a nice contrast between the depth of the shade on the house and color depth on the door. This will create visual interest and drama.

Wow, I'm not sure I'm brave enough to pair yellow with purple, red, or blue...grey sounds nice though!
An inexpensive way to add Instant character to your home!
