While bookcases are typically stylized with decorative items or filled to the max with books, we love how almostbunnies uses the bookcase to store and organize her homes belongings.
Mixing it up with magazine files, white lidded boxes from IKEA (changed the silver handle on the bottom two) and silky tan boxes that line the bottom shelves. Instead of using a filing cabinet, almostbunnies finds it more effective to use brown labeled boxes from the Container Store to file receipts and important paperwork. The vintage Ivory box on top keeps old yearbooks stylishly contained--we love this storage technique. Almostbunnies organizing rule is to keep items accessible (and we agree). If you're like us, things must be in view (or we'll forget what we own) and almostbunnies organized bookcase is a great example on how to store items while making the space look amazing.

Great! Need to do the same with my bookcase! So hard to control clutter, especially in a small space.
Wow! I wished my shelves looked like this. I feel a decluttering session coming on.
Ahhhhhhh.
Oh yessss....
