Whether they're used for looking up recipes, pulling up cooking show clips on YouTube or just killing time on Twitter while you wait for the water to boil, we're seeing computers in the kitchen popping up everywhere. Most of the time it's a laptop sitting on a clean spot on the counter or a McMansion-style built-in computer desk, but this one is a DIY computer station built in to the cabinets...

Flickr user cristoffercrusell uploaded a Flickr photo set detailing the steps he took to turn a laptop into a custom kitchen computer station.

He removed a few shelves from his kitchen cabinet and custom-fit some simple carpentry to frame a used laptop screen. With the addition of a pull-out shelf and an auxiliary keyboard, what was once an old notebook becomes a built-in computer workstation. Perfect for checking the weather while you wait for coffee or figuring out exactly what goes into an Old Fashioned while your in-laws wait in the living room.
