As you have surely noticed, we have dedicated February to Home Hacks and DIY projects, sharing our insights into a variety of home improvements to help inspire you to tackle your own. We were therefore delighted to see the picture of a DIY tufted headboard that Leslie posted to the DC Flickr. group; we knew immediately that we needed to share her excellent project with you in time for the long weekend.
Upholstered headboards tend to be very expensive to buy but don't require much expertise to build, making them an ideal DIY project. We've seen lots of examples of DIY upholstered headboards in the past, but believe that Leslie's decision to use pegboard to make the tufting easier is sheer brilliance. Based on Leslie's pictures, it seems that covering the many buttons for the tufting was the most difficult and time consuming part of this project.
You can see more pictures of Leslie's headboard project on her Flickr page.
Thanks again to everyone who shares pictures with the DC Flickr group (note: the link address is new). We love getting a peek inside your homes, and sharing your inspirational spaces with the community.
