Flickr Find: Moxiesinclair's Green Serene Bedroom

We have bedrooms on the brain today as it's the perfect temperature outside for a quick cat nap and this bedroom looks like just the place to take one! Although that probably makes us sound weird and creepy to say we want to take a nap in one of our reader's rooms... uh...moving on. The soothing green is the perfect shade to calm the senses and relax before catching some shut eye, another view after the jump!

Green can be a tricky shade to work with in a bedroom. It can either be too bold making the light in such a bedroom feel harsh and cold, or it can be too grey making things feel more country-crafty than they should. This is a perfect example of how to make green open up a space and truly bring the outdoors in!

...but why are the drapes so short?

What paint brand/color is that? It looks similar to the color I used in my living room (Behr, asparagus.)

Good job picking this shade. It's important to consider how much natural light a room gets when picking how light or dark of a shade.

I think they did shorter drapes because they are hung within the window encasement.

I like that shade of green but I think I'd prefer to have it in the kitchen rather than the bedroom.

Which is exactly the problem: Notice how low they're hung below the top of the window?

If they were hung at half-height and grazed the windowsill, it could be played off as "Cafe" length - but here they just look wrong, which is a shame for an otherwise lovely room.

love it. trade the drapes for a a woven shade in tortoise and it is perfection!

I love when the spread and the walls are the same color.

Hmm, I dont consider that tone of green to be so good i would go for mo yellowish green which is more cosy IMO. But otherwise it looks nice.

Wow that green is bright - a darker and lighter shade would have been much more flattering. The royal blue is doing absolutely nothing to help out.

Chris, darker shades don't work in Seattle as they get REALLY dark in the winter. I unfortunately know this from experience :(

Ever live in Indiana, matsaywhat? LOL - winters are horrible, summers are way too hot...and spring and fall seem to stay about a month. So don't whine about weather - sorry, but more than Seattle has bad weather.
