If you watch tv these days, you're probably familiar with a television spot that's been playing since the Olympics began featuring an over-the-top Michael Phelps superfan whose home is completely decorated with Phelps' posters, cut outs and other swimfan paraphenalia. It made us revisit the question about whether tasteful sports-themed home decor exists. While we were pondering the matter, we came upon an image of this Olympics-themed door wreath found on a home in Pacific Heights.
While it's not exactly a sports team or athlete-themed decoration, this handcrafted wreath reinforces the idea that creativity, good use of color and interesting materials are what can tie a theme together and really make it special.

We had a client that loved sports, specifically football (the American version) and running. We took a whole back wall of his office and used various photos of football, track & field, etc. all in sepia tones, matted in white, in various black frames on a chocolate brown wall. It was visually stunning and tasteful.
hehe this is very cute..
looks like someone tried to pick some of the faux grapes....anyone got a glue gun?
I have always wondered what to do about this. My boyfriend love love loves Michael Jordan and our apartment is very girly thanks to my gray, bright green, blue and birch wood decor. I wanted to put something tasteful up but I can't imagine a giant image of MJ on the walls.....
I don't know about this. I'm all for the Olympics, but the fruit on those wreaths looks so faux that the whole thing reads tacky to me.
I think that I am going to borrow this idea....I adore this and think that I can expand upon it. I think that I will change up the materials, but love the concept
ewww...
Bright teal blue... butterflies?
Maybe if only one type of decoration were used for all five rings, the least obnoxious of which seems to be the plums. Maybe.
very cute!
granted, i am ocd, but i *really* want the rings to overlap.
This is so not cute.
Someone was glue gun happy!
not happy enough-the grapes are falling off!
