Last week we featured the amazing Jardin Majorelle in Morocco. The bold blue and the rich textures definitely got us fantasizing. But we hadn't thought to apply the same ideas to a smaller outdoor space. Here, in a very tight space Susie brought a version of Majorelle Bleu to the back of her patio...
And using plants that are actually quite different from the Moroccan oasis, she filled her tiny patio with red tulips and petunias. We love the bold use of blue against the back shed door (kind of reminds us of these photos) as it seems to unify a small space that could otherwise start to look crowded. The use of such an intense color in a small space reminds us of some great bathrooms we've seen. The blue gives your eye a place to rest and all of the other textures and blues just contribute to a great overall tiny space outdoors.
Have you used bold colors in a small space?
