We love this simple vignette of vibrant tulips paired with a cool, retro-style clock. It got us wondering, how many of you choose your floral bouquets to match your decor?
We usually take color into consideration, but end up leaning more towards whatever looks freshest at the farmer's market - after all, we've never found a bouquet of pretty flowers to "clash" with anything. After seeing this arrangement, though, we might have to reconsider our priorities. Also, is there anything more cheerful than a bunch of tulips? It's almost absurd.

I do! Our decor includes a lot of green and a little orange, so when I buy flowers, they tend to be those two colors or white. Red and yellow flowers, though beautiful on their own, just don't look good in our space. Pink can work on occasion.
When buying flowers, I just go for colors that I like (i.e., just about anything except hot pink or peach). Since I decorate using pretty much the same approach, everything works together.
I rarely buy cut flowers; it depresses me when they die. I do have lots of houseplants, flowering as well as foliage only. I definitely take my decor into consideration when placing them. For example, my kitchen has a lot of light green in it, so I have light green succulents in my kitchen windows. My bathroom has several large photographs of white flowers, so I have white African violets and peace lilies in there. I do have a tendency to impulse-buy whenever I see a beautiful or unusual plant. If I bring something home that doesn't match anything in my house, it goes on the back porch or into a flowerbed.
I choose seasonal and local which means tulips in Spring.
I checked out the clock - they are on sale, in a lot of great colors.
of course. doesn't everyone? pretty easy to do at my house since I'm heavy on the oranges/reds/chartreuse anyway
Flowers are always that third color that makes my rooms happy. Its usually pink or yellow but I do love a stem of a green cymbidium and it last for months.

I would love to but my daughter seems to be allergic to flowers. Anybody have any advice as to which flowers may not cause reactions? I am missing flowers so badly!
