Even though The Spring Cure has come to an end, that doesn't mean we're not still snooping around the Flickr pool and watching for a few late entries! We happened upon RobnSarah's transformation of a vintage tv into a dry bar and thought it was a great use of an otherwise useless item. Click through for another view!
We love the addition of the light and the hinged front door. Now we're curious what other vintage finds that technology has rendered obsolete could be used for the same purpose!
Thanks RobnSarah!

Lucy! I'm Home!
This is AMAZING. I love it. Love it. Want to try to replicate it... add another to my craigslist diy luck wish list...
A very interesting idea but did you know that you CAN still use those old working TV's, even vintage ones from 50's-60's? Yes, either by connecting up a DVD player to it, or a cable feed or get a digital set top box and connect it to the antenna terminals in the back and voila, a working tV!
The thing is, those old sets do require maintenance to keep running smoothly and there are plenty of people out there restoring these old sets to like new condition.
I'm not a drinker but this looks really good, what a great way to recycle.
I plan on doing something very similar to my antique record player!! Nice to see it will work.
Hey that is our hanging-over-the-head project we completed on Saturday!
Actually, Rob found the tv abandoned in a garage maybe 12 or 13 years ago. He gutted it, refinished it and piano hinged the door and it was used to hold stereo components. Since we run everything through our computer and the stereo is obsolete, we thought it would work best as a dry bar and converted it this weekend as one of our last spring cure tasks. You can see in the before shot, the stereo is in there:

Hot patootie that is just too darn cool. Love it!
great item! and can totally see this being sold in mid-century furniture shops for hundreds of pounds/dollars by a rip-off merchant.
Cool idea. I found an old metal TV circa 1952 and turned it into a fish tank and I love it. It gives off the coolest vibe.
This is awesome, period.
Tremendously clever! What a fun idea.
I actually have a small business retrofitting antique electronics and appliances with modern parts, ie modern speaker guts in an old bakelite radio to turn it into an ipod dock. Design was so much better when it was actually, you know, designed
Adorable...so fun.
I love this! What a clever way to re-purpose!
i'm loving it.
