There are so many things to love about cathinca's hallway (we found it in our Flickr account this morning). To start with, there's the shelf over the doorways...

This wallpapered panel and the shelves

Hooks...

... and mirrors

... and drawers

Metal doors as bulletin boards

Old theater seats to perch on while putting on or taking off shoes
(And the wood floors, and her dog, of course!)
Thanks, cathinca!

The dog likes it!
A shelf over the door is a great place to store towels in a bathroom.
I love it just find a place for the shoes.
theatre seats are a great idea for a small space.
love the gray and the *floors*!
Thank you so much for the compliments for my hallway! Actually the last two pictures are older (before the renovation) and we had to get rid of the theater seats for a while because of my little daughter, 11 months - they are quite dangerous for a toddler.
The makeover was quite inexpensive - we paid about 150 euros (I live in Berlin, Germany) for everything - the hooks and the mirror I found on Ebay and the book shelf was a DIY which I painted with the wallcolors. The shelf for the shoes is a simple Billy from Ikea. You can see more in my blog over at http://hyggelig.typepad.com
I looove the theater seats!!!
That little alcove to hang your bag is so cute! Love the whole thing!
the theater seats are sooooo cool! my favorite club has such in backstage-area!

lovely place. beautiful floor, many good details. :-)
Lovely hallway indeed.
FYI, you can get old theater seats on eBay. The shipping runs about $50, but the chairs themselves aren't expensive. I got one for $45 (plus $50 to ship).
My favorite feature of the hallway is the dogs! They go with everything!
Too funny! I saw your hallway and thought, wow, that looks almost European...in fact, I could use a lot of those ideas in my hallway. Then I read the comments only to see that your hallway does indeed look European in design and structure because it is. And it looks a lot, an awful lot, like mine because it is. From one Berlin resident to another here's to "Dielen"!
