It makes all kinds of sense for those of use who need to spread out when we're working: the dining table is often the widest, clearest surface in the house. It makes even more sense from the perspective that a lot of us in small spaces have to choose between a dining room and a home office, if we have room for even one of those things.
Above: Amit Gupta's mother spreads out on a large coffee table — and under a fantastic chandelier.

the taco sensation's tiny space combines the dining room, office, living room and bedroom in one.

Katy's Clutter shows us her office in the dining room, tucked in a nook under the stairs. Check out the constrasting wall color behind her monitor.

I love that use of the under-the-stairs space.

I think this is a cool topic. More photos, please!
That's so cool, I have my desk under the stairs too. I really think it's the best way to use that small space.
Very topical as my husband and I are locked in a battle right now over what to do with our dining room. I would like to use it as it was intended (ie as a dining room). He would like an office for his computer equipment, etc. I have compromised but I think it looks awful... Any inspirational photos would be appreciated!
