Yeah, it's one of those, "Duh, why didn't I think of that!" moments courtesy of Nayr. By placing the LACK shelf on a wall tract, he cleverly creates a desk free from monitor domination and the shelf adds instant storage for his records, placed right next to his workstation for easy access.
This isn't the first time IKEA shelves have been used for record storage. However, the LACK shelf as a monitor holder is a clever idea, though we wouldn't suggest placing anything larger than a 20" LCD. Though, it looks like Nayr used tracks in this case to give the shelf lateral strength to avoid such a situation, we'd still not recommend placing something heavy like a CRT unless you're looking to receive a sheet rock present the next morning
