Flickr Finds: Edgewater Pad Mini-Tour

A talented Chicagoan out there (flickr name t8_1974, to be exact) has done a huge rehab of a two flat in Edgewater. It's a beautiful job - we like the strong neutral paint choices used thoughout and love the wall of mosaic tiles in the kitchen. The owner was kind enough to share the flickr set of the project by tagging it "apartmenttherapychicago".

Here's what they had to say about what must have been a lengthy undertaking: "This is a soft rehab of an Edgewater Glen 2 flat. The place was in need of major TLC. Projects include painting every surface, landscaping, duplexing into the basement and gutting the kitchen."

"I am trying to figure out how to bring more interest to the wall with the entertainment center. I am thinking about flanking it with framed wallpaper (to add interest and color). Also,, I am not happy with the black and white photos over the couch and am thinking about a large piece of art (to bring color) or possibly a funky bark mirror from Anthropologie. Finally, I am still looking for a cool coffee table and have my eye on a new one from Williams Sonoma Home."

"I sunk the fridge into the bedroom closet and gave the remaining pantry to the bedroom closet. I am thinking about replacing the bar with cabinets eventually."

I know this entry is pretty old but I had to comment because I think I have that exact same carpet as the one in your living room and I'm currently trying to decide on paint colors for my LR and adjacent DR. I have been agonizing for years over the perfect beige and whether I should go grayer or warmer. Did you ever repaint your living room? I love the kitchen paint color and especially the hallway.
