We love this. Vintage ironing boards used as outdoor tables! Yes, they're a little narrow, but they're colorful and sturdy. We found this image from Flickr user One Take Movie, and apparently it comes from Bakesale Betty in Oakland, CA. (Anyone been there?)
Now that we think of it, ironing boards are really versatile. Because they're height adjustable, they'd work in a variety of settings — even indoors. We're thinking they'd make a great landing strip. Put a nice lamp on there and a small box to catch your miscellaneous items, and you're in business...
Anyone have any other ideas for old ironing boards?

Yay Bakesale Betty! That place rocks. I live on the other side of the bay but still manage to visit on a regular basis. The ironing board tables are so charming and usually packed on the weekends. Their baked good are great, but I love the fried chicken sandwich. There's usually a line, but it goes fast and they often hand out treats to people who are waiting or give out free pie with every order.
squirrelgirlie sums it up beautifully. That fried chicken sandwich is incredible and worth the wait, as are the pastries. "Betty" (Alison) is charming and the place has become a cornerstone of the Temescal neighborhood. Don't miss the scones.
Yaaaayyy! I love bakesale betty! Totally worth a visit if you're in Oakland. The ironing boards work quite well as tables, but I must admit that they CAN be a tad wobbly at times. Try the pear/ginger scone- AMAZING!

Those ironing boards look great, and as soon as I get this posted I'll go get mine and look how wobbly or not table that would make. I'm definately more in a need of an extra table than an ironing board. Thanks for the tip!
