High end speakers aren't for everyone, but it's hard to ignore the aesthetic impact it has on a would-be run-the-mill desk space. The Audioengine 5 monitors
are what shines in this space (along with his clever use of bare minimums
and small footprint
items such as the the Mac Mini, Apple wireless keyboard, and wireless mouse) and by loosening the weight of colors to focus mainly on other fun items, the technology seems to blend into the backdrop without distracting too much from the simple design
of the space. Cheers to simplicity! In this space, you have non-tech items taking priority; IKEA Vika Lerberg trestles with particle board mounted on top as the desk, IKEA drawers with the wonderful locker design, and a beautiful fixie SE Lager bike in the backdrop. Floors appear to be IKEA as well.
As far as tech items go, you have a 20" Dell LCD Ultrasharp monitor, an Apple Mini, Apple wireless mouse, Apple wireless keyboard, Audioengine 5 speakers, and an OWC external hard drive. Those speakers, which sound great even without the subwoofer, run about $350
and are usually geared towards studio production. However, if you're looking for a pair speakers that both look and sound great, they're definitely worth considering.
Exposed wires seem to be a tiny issue, but we'll give him some time to deal with it until we follow up with a finalized space sans the exposed snakes. It looks good overall, though!
