Ramonah and Daniela were kind enough to share with us their creative example of a re-envisioned cabinet converted into a cozy area where she can "sit inside and chat, read, phone". Ramonah removed the doors, painted the inside a vibrant colour and added some pillows for seating, while the bottom drawer stores away all her music below. January Jumpstart is nearing its end, but it's still not too late to find inspiration for your own DIY projection with examples like this as guidance.
"This cabinet used to be hers until she gave it to me cause she didn't wanna be surrounded by so much color anymore and I altered the cabinet a little bit for my own use. Meanwhile, I sold it to somebody whose plan was to cover the inside with wallpaper and make it a playful piece of furniture for a kid's room."

Not my taste, but a clever idea.
Darn, thought we could vote on this. Not part of the contest! Love the colors. Very subcontinent.
This would be so cool painted a bright color, with a pendant lamp and some artwork hanging inside, and curtains that could be drawn aside. When I was a kid, I would have LOVED a space like that to read in!
I like the idea of that, and the color choice is fantastic, but it actually looks a little hard and uncomfortable. To be a good reading space, it seems like it would need back and corner cushions.
It's interesting, but it doesn't look terribly practical as functioning seating.
