I really like the yellow orange paint! It's great with the chair and the whole room. Also like the rest of the place-nice color!
ohh I love the idea of using chalkboard paint on the antique looking piece inbetween the bag hooks! Great idea.
Sorry - I'd meant to email the picture to you but...I forgot. In any case, the table looks nacho-cheese colored, though I was hoping at the time for something darker, but I love the result. I didn't realize that I shouldn't use a (crappy) roller with oil-based paint, so there were bits of fluff stuck to the top that I had to sand away. That was unpleasant.
I'm about to go look up upholstery on at:chicago because there's a rip in the bottom of that chair cushion that's going to be problematic if it's not fixed soon (and it's not something I feel confident fixing) so if anyone has any recommendations, I'd love to hear (read, I guess) them.

Very creative idea for "to do list" chalkboard in the baroque frame! Next to the mod red hooks it looks more "Rock" than "Bach". Nice!

Ha! It's an unfinished Indonesian puppet my father brought me on one of his trips - my apartment is full to bursting with random stuff he's brought me from all over the place, but this is one of my favorites. It's so darn tall, though, I don't know where to put her...

I painted bookcases that colour (in 1973). It was British Paints brand and the colour was called 'Hot Canary', which sounds a lot better than 'Nachos Cheese'.
You should wash all rollers before using them to remove any residual lint. Your supposed to do it with the solvent eg water or turps, but I do it as soon as I buy them in water, and let them dry several days.
A good way to paint oil based paint is to use a FOAM roller for speed. This leaves pock marks called 'orange peel'. You immediately LIGHTLY brush over the surface going the one way along the longest edge of the item, to remove the 'peel' leaving the SMOOTHEST coat. All of it takes half the time of brushing, and less or no brushstrokes, almost sprayed look.
I think that's because the foam roller deposits more paint on the surface.
If you have a hand disability (like me), a 4 inch roller and 2 inch brush works well - just remember to keep your 'wet edge' and don't 'over work' the paint.
The table looks great! And so does your place. I love the chalkboard in the frame! I might steal that idea.
Since you are on a role, why don't you arrange your books by color? But that's just me, I really love that look.
