We love this sweeping staircase even without its hidden storage, but the bank of drawers elevates these stairs to a masterpiece...

Ctd 2005 designed these stairs for a client who wanted to combine Shaker and Japanese utility into the space. There are lots of other great inspirational pictures in Ctd 2005's photostream.

I love these - a very practical use of space.
I love how the molding is built right into the bottom stair!
Great use of space and beautifully done.
I mean bottom drawer. Sorry.
I like it a lot, but I think I'd only have the drawers on the bottom half, and put bookshelves in the top half.
i feel like the drawers and the white pulls make it look like cheap laminate furniture and don't match the style of the stairs/banister. Maybe more molding would help.
I would use glass or crystal knobs, Enamorada is right, looks a tad cheap. Love the idea though!
One of the smartest ideas I've seen - just look at how even the bottom blends in with the molding.
That is quite clever and very beautiful!
wish I had this going in my home---really nice.
all the stairs SHOULD come with build-in storage. What a waste of space overwise.
I love this! Although, in a nod to insanity_pepepr and enamorada, I'd also go for shelves in the top half (two rows of drawers at the bottom and then shelves) and put on knowbs to match the colour of the banister.
Yes, this is just what I've been looking to do but couldn't see it visually - until now. However, I'd do mine in natural wood. Thanks!
