Flickr Finds: Tascjpg's Landing Strip

There's something important about how one presents their "landing strip," we think. The very contained spot where you throw your keys, mail, sunglasses...perhaps take a quick look in the mirror before leaving home.

We found Showlola's on Flickr back in March, and now here's Tascjpg's landing strip hopeful. She writes:
Considering this for a landing strip... but the only place for it would be next to the sofa replacing the light colored wood stand.

...Or in my bedroom, which doesn't make it much of a landing strip!
But it's laid out perfectly for bill paying and thank you note Central!
hmmm. it's only $75 WITH the chair!

We think it's a great little set, and hope you grabbed it. What are everyone else's landing strip choices??

As an update, I'm not getting the little black desk. At least that's what I decided before you reminded me of it again!

The desk IS ideal but it just won't fit into my home in a way that makes sense.

I'm having a really hard time figuring out how to do a landing strip in my pad... as the entryway isn't really an entryway

That little space between the living room wall and the wall with the door buzzer/intercom - is my front door.
(door opens up to a wall - and the natural flow pushes me straight to the dining table which is why there is always stuff piled up on it!! - I NEVER eat there)

But I'm thinking of some low profile, lean and mean shelves lined up under the door intercom - to plop keys and I have a three pocket wall sorter to catch and sort mail. The chink in this plan is - in the winter I have to cross the room to get to the light switch. (there is enough light most summer evenings.)

edit to include realization that in the picture I linked... you do indeed see a light switch that is NOT across the room from the front door.
Sadly, that switch controls the wall outlet where the TV and electronics (inside the credenza) are plugged into.
