We're always wondering how people tackle decorating around the TV, and this display caught our eye. They've integrated their TV into their entire library, not giving it any visual priority.

We're a little confused about how it was mounted and if it has the ability to slide (which would be very cool.) But we like the idea not allocating an entire wall for a television, but making it just one aspect of an entire unit. Many accomplish this with large, bulky enclosure, while Lorena and David kept it minimal with a self-built bookcase system.

it's sad that the tv hides that poster behind it, i'd like to see it out. it gets a little lost witht he business of the wall, and lost since it's behind a tv...
i would love to see the bookcases continue around the tv, and then display a picture of books on the tv, like a where is the tv hiding kind of thing... i knowit's not practical, for possible burn in, but makes me thing about the whole invisible desktop type look.
This appeals to me because I too have a lot of books! But I think it adds distracting visual clutter to the TV-watching experience, unless you turn the lights off to watch TV.
Yeah, the poster blocking bugged me too, that's why I wondered if the TV actually moved around. And I agree jmorey, slide the whole system a few inches to the left, positioning the TV in the middle of the books would look pretty cool.
clutter. ugh
