Yvonne's talents have been featured on Apartment Therapy before: once with her conversion of an Ikea bookshelf into a cat nook and another time highlighting her amazing sewing skills. Tackling a 1896 brewers home in Belgium close to the Dutch border, she renovated an old basement into a modern, clean and bright sewing room perfect for making more of those adorable cushions. We just love the transformative powers of a good coat of white paint, and love how she used affordable furniture (like from Ikea) and unique accessories to personalize the space. While you might not have a whole basement to turn into a dedicated craft space, could you have a space somewhere in your home that could be transformed, too? Maybe an old porch, empty laundry closet or unused pantry? Yvonne's sewing basement is proof that no space is beyond a little paint and design!

White Enamel Flatwa...
So clean and uncluttered... how nice that you had this space to dedicate to your sewing area! Envy for sure! Nice job!
wow looks great. its funny how those pink chairs seem like just the right tough too.
What a transformation! I'd love to overhaul my icky cellar like that... must not start another project!
This girl is absolutely talented! I just LOVE the transformation, the use of colors and the organization!! Beautiful space, Cannot believe the BEFORE photo can actually becomes AFTER! Superb work!
I envy you !! I'm about to move in a typical Dutch house (living in the north of France), and I have something like a tiny version of this basement. It's divided in two, and my husband wants at least on of the rooms to keep his tools (no complaint, he's good with them). I wanted to use the other 4 square meter room as a craftroom, but it turns out, we have so much things to store, I can't put a desk in there.
Love, love the cleanliness of the room and the funny pink chairs !
I'm wondering, what kind of flooring did you use ?
Can someone remind me where those red chairs come from? I've been hoping to remember/find them....
The magic powers of white!
great zeus' beard!!!! amazing! hmmm... now to find a basement....
Does anyone know about that center table? I would love one! amazing sewing room...I hope to have one half as nice!
I agree, I have to have those chairs...
where are the two desks from (where the sewing machine sits)?
The two desks are actually MELTORP tables from Ikea.
I am seriously coveting that sewing room. I love to sew, but it is usually on my dining table and involves clean up and putting everything away when done. Can't just leave stuff out while in the middle of a project.
