Fliqlo Screensaver

What time is it? You won't have to be near your computer to answer this question, if you have this screensaver installed.

Fliqlo is a free screensaver for both Windows and Macs, and allows you to make your screen look like a flip-style clock.

We tried it out on our computer (above), and really liked how it looked. We were curious how it reacted when time changed, and it does indeed mimic the flipping of the clock. When you're tired of watching fireworks, give this simple design a try.

The screensaver is great but where did those small round speakers either side of your monitor come from?

I got the speakers at Goodwill, but amazon has them too.

A word of warning, they aren't that great, but I paid $3 for them... If you're looking for stellar sound quality (or even more than slightly loud), look elsewhere.

Unlike most of the other screen savers I've seen, this one seems to be dual-screen aware (at least on Windows). Very cool.

Does anyone out there have any attractive and good computer speakers recommendations? They don't need to be audiophile quality or anything, just you know, good.

To add a con to this list, screensavers do use energy. So don't forget to set your computer to hibernate if it's not used in 30, 60, 90 <insert increment here> minutes, and have another clock handy.

Cambridge Soundworks makes the best PC speakers for the money, I think. Their little PC Works system sounds good for the money:

Yeah, I love this screensaver. I've had it for several years and it makes the monitor part of my furnishings, as opposed to an item on its own.

Theres a whole variety on there, most are free to download as well. Nice way to spruce up the old screen!

For those of you running Leopard and are attempting install, don't get discouraged if you cannot install through the disk image. Simply open the image and drag the *.saver file into the screen saver folder under library/screensaver/ and open system pref back up and it should be there.
