Have you ever needed just one more drawer? West Elm wants you to consider their new floating media drawer — a stackable, single drawer that complements their various media stands and end tables. Designed to be additional storage for DVDs or various remote controls, we can imagine using an extra drawer for everything from socks to silverware...

The creative possibilities are nearly endless for this modular drawer! The Floating Media Drawer is available in chocolate oak veneer, polished white or polished cinnabar for $129. What would you use it for?

Z2 iPod Dock and Wi...
I would use it as an inspiration to find a cheaper version
Target, can you whip up the same thing?
If it would fit, it would be useful to put under the bed to replace my plastic bins.
But I'm not sure I want to pay $130 a piece for something that is hidden under the bed...
I would keep buying "just one more" until I actually had six or seven full size dressers of random colors around the apartment.
Great idea, overpriced. Would be great for modular bookshelf storage, or a make-your-own cabinet/dresser kind of thing. I'm surprised Ikea hasn't jumped on an idea like this.
um, why so expensive?? but here, in honor of drawers, a 14 line poem by Ron Padgett.
"Nothing in that Drawer"
Nothing in that drawer.
Nothing in that drawer.
Nothing in that drawer.
Nothing in that drawer.
Nothing in that drawer.
Nothing in that drawer.
Nothing in that drawer.
Nothing in that drawer.
Nothing in that drawer.
Nothing in that drawer.
Nothing in that drawer.
Nothing in that drawer.
Nothing in that drawer.
Nothing in that drawer.
you should hear it read aloud - it's wonderful :)
AT, help. there was a small cool entry this year (and i'm sure i've seen this before, too) in which the coffee table was one of those tall narrow LACK bookshelves turned onto its side. can anyone direct me to it? my poring through the entries and running searches have been bootless
I don't think $129 is too much if it's well made - which it appears to be.
I'd be inclined to mount them on wall brackets for use as a nightstand or a 2-3 in a row as a wall console after drilling holes in the case bottoms to drop cords for phone chargers, etc.
kdkaboom - that's absolutely perfect
Is West Elm paying for all these posts? This is the 3rd post about WE I have seen TODAY.
Check this out:

For $130 I will clear some space in my existing drawers...
I love these. I am getting two of these for nightstands. We have a few pieces of West Elm furniture. They aren't heirloom, but they are great.
louisw - west elm does not pay for posts. a new west elm catalog just came out showcasing a ton of new products and all the editors are anxious to showcase their favorites!
I am not a huge fan of West Elm, but I actually like this idea a lot. For those who are complaining about price, the piece comes fully assembled - no ugly flatpack screws and misaligned fiberboard slabs as is common with so much of the self assembled West Elm, Ikea, and CB2 pieces. And it is the exact same price point as CB2's self assembled Sleepy Hollow drawer, which is not nearly as nice.
While it makes me rather uncomfortable to rush to West Elm's defense, I find it kind of discouraging that a mass market furniture retailer finally gets a few things right, at a great price point no less, and its a chorus of complaints that the piece isn't cheaper still.
I mean, it's as inexpensive as anything you will find at CB2 or Overstock.com. And its better. What's to complain about?
There is something similar for a little cheaper over at dwell:

Too expensive for me, but it would be great for a minimalist bedside table!
I have made it a point to try and keep as many drawers empty and keep those that contain items, pared down and organized. Afterall, that is the point of all of these decluttering posts, is it not AT editors?
I am always looking for drawers, they are so handy! These look a bit big though.
And, yep, for me a little too pricey...
I like this much more:

In Walnut.
They have similar drawers to the West Elm version, but in bamboo.
Has anyone seen anything similar? WE doesn't have them anymore and it's exactly what I'm looking for.
perfect, could have not said it better, try making it in this country for $130.- , if we all would shop more local and made in America products, everybody would be better of. Stop hunting for bargains and start looking at quality.
