This would be an amazing holiday gift if you had an extra $800 - $1,600 to spend on a loved one. We've blogged these hand-knit poufs from Flocks before (here and here). This winter they're available in limited quantities at DWR. Although expensive, when you see the amount of work that went into these the price sort of makes sense...

Designed by Christien Meindertsma at her studio in the Netherlands, each pouf is knit by hand from hand-felted yarn using giant needles. The poufs come with a card identifying the sheep that the wool was sourced from.
Note: The poufs will not be in stock until January 2008, but they can be pre-ordered.

First of all, what is the purpose of a "pouf"?
Seeing that word over and over just makes me think of Gob on Arrested Development.
MCNicole, it can be used as an ottomon, extra seating, or as a table (if you were to put a tray or something on top).
Tee hee! Gob!
I miss Arrested Development!
Those huge knitting needles crack me up! I want to see her knit using that. They should put up a video of her making one!
forget about the pouf, I want those needles!!!
Okay, I like these, and I knit. Any idea what I could use for the giant yarn?
Easy! Just use yarn made from giant sheep.
Non-facetious answer: Maybe silk rope? I don't knit, I'm just throwing out ideas.
For that amount of money, I'm not sitting this on a floor...and I DARE someone to even TRY to sit on one of my $800 poufs!!!
