From penthouse to studio, Core77 shares nifty floorplan renderings of all the rooms available on Norwegian Cruise Lines. The super-attractive 3D floorplans are especially unique and offer some interesting space planning solutions in rooms of all sizes — round bed anyone?
Core77 points out that Norwegian Cruise Lines won the Travel & Leisure Design Awards 2011 for Best Transportation — and the rooms certainly look more attractive than any cruise ship I've been on (which is only 1).

If I ever go on a cruise, I hope I can afford the one in picture 5!
if there was a tiny kitchen in there somewhere, I would love any of these to be my apartment....
Cute, funny and inspirational for small places. On serious note: these rooms were not made to live, just livable, for a short period of time. To crash after long night/day of partying :)
Not sure what problem a round bed is a solution for, though am sad I could not convince myself to buy the one saw on CL....
totally can be used for apts smaller than 700 sqaure feet
#3 is lovely.
Makes me want to go on another live-aboard trip and sleep on the boat by night, SCUBA by day.
#3 isn't quite as lovely as #5, but having a mini hot-tub that looks out over the water more than makes up for it.

Not necessarily true at all.
I've been on a fair number of cruises - most longer than a week with little to no mega-partying - and I've found quite a bit of design inspiration from the staterooms and suites friends and I have occupied and thrown (sometimes lavish) parties in.
The most amazing stateroom renderings I've seen are from the brand-new Oceania Marina - with the suites outfitted in Ralph Lauren furnishings...

...and there are some lovely staterooms aboard the recently refitted Crystal Symphony

These aren't party boats like Epic (One of the ugliest and most uncomfortable ships ever) - These are designed for World Cruising.
I just cruised with NCL last year. Unfortunately, it was not on any of these fantastic ships but the room was quite spacious and nice!
#3 would make a fabulous New York City apartment. On a high floor, that shower could be fantastic!
awesome post! :)
Maybe I'm not seeing this correctly, but it looks like #4 gives you a straight view into the glass-doored shower when you open the main door to the room. I hope there's no one passing in the hallway when your husband returns to the room while you're showering. Ack!
