Great news! The modern florist at Takashimaya has resurfaced in the Flatiron District at Florisity after the Japanese department store shut its doors last month. The New York Times tells us that creative director Sandra Taurina will continue her standout modern/Asian style of arrangements alongside designer Katsuya Nishimori at Florisity.

Good to hear! Truly some of the most stunning and unique arrangements I have ever seen came from Takashimaya. One of few places were the sky high prices are justified. So many places just glom onto a trend, like the square continer with short buds stuffed in for a geometric thing. That was nice the first 5 times I saw it, but now every florist in the city does it. Takashimaya had very simple, organic but wonderfully balanced arrangements. I know I sound like a slobbering wacko, but seriously for people without budgetary restrictions that wanted a tasteful display, this was my go-to place. So glad to hear that they will live on in a new location!
This is great news. So glad they are back. I can't wait to walk by their new shop.
...and the T Box Café?
