As the streets warm up and the air gets thick, I'm starting to notice more and more color-filled flower boxes around the city. This week as I was rushing through SoHo, something told me to slow down and look up (see short slideshow). At the north east corner of Prince and Thompson, I saw these flowerboxes. What struck me was that the residents of this apartment planted every one of their eight windows, except the one with the AC in it. What dedication! As I stood in the shade of the deli across the street, with the sweet smell of their over-priced Peonies in my nose, I gave a little thanks for the green-thumbs up there on the second floor for slowing me down and for giving the neighborhood a long ribbon of color and life to look at day after day.
