As SKGR lies sick in bed for day number two (it IS getting better), we of the not-so-green-thumb are on Flower Box Award duty this week. What we found was townhouse on 82nd street... totally done up for the holidays in garlands of cedar and pine.
While the dim light set in we were amazed at this fantastic house that looked like it had been decorated for the set of Charles Dickens or a Christmans Spectacular. What is most interesting and stylish about it is it's total dependence on greens and browns to set it off. Unlike more cliched holiday fare, there are no red ribbons or candied apples amidst this green. In a way this is more natural. No toxic holiday colors, just the deep greens and browns of the winter forest.
As we took pictures, we saw the owner inside wondering what we were doing. Since we haven't finished fashioning the Flower Box Award to hand out (it is coming!) and since we weren't as pleasant looking as SKGR, we moved along. MGR
