Flutter is what Anthropologie wishes it was: eclectic, tongue-in-cheek sweet, where everything looks like it was found in the attic of an adventurer from a bygone era.
The store carries a selection of curios for the home -- plaques, mirrors, prints and objets d'art -- as well as the more conventional rugs, pillows, chairs and tables.
Much of what is on offer appears to be a well curated array of vintage and vintage-inspired finds, such as the vintage aviary and iron chair with wood slats, French bistro style.

The shop was recently expanded to share space with Frocky Jack Morgan, the studio and showroom of artist Julia Barbee's paintings, taxidermy, curios and deconstructed vintage gowns and jewelry. Also worth the visit is a large brass chandelier covered with living moss underneath a skylight that was added with the expansion.

AT Portland! AT Portland!
Christ it's expensive.
This shop is absolutely fabulous if you want one-of-a-kind pieces [rather than mass-market stuff]. Everytime I go in, it is hard to resist buying something. Come on up and see for yourself. Extra bonus...the owner (Cindy) is a true gem!!
P.S. I vote for an AT Portland, too!!
Hope you all know about www.PortlandPicks.com. They first scooped Flutter and about 1,000 other awesome shops. I LOVE Portland Picks and it's full of great finds!!! Btw, I've been to Flutter so many times...what you see online is just the beginning. The store is crush-worthy.
