Lots of small balconies are only a few feet wide. This is where robust round tables with sprawling shade umbrellas are simply not an option. But this little folding balcony table might be just the ticket...

We could see this set up with a couple of compact outdoor dining chairs. Use it for dining on your tiny balcony or as a serving surface to supplement your outdoor dining table when entertaining. The one pictured here is from Preferred Living ($70), and there's also the very similar Kettler folding table available at Amazon ($95).

Love it!
I wonder how it works on a metal patio? It seems like a great idea, but both tables are shown on wood. Hm..

I like that! My balcony is 4'x8', so just enough room for a tiny bistro table & chairs, but not for anything for serving from (which would be handy due to the tiny bistro table being tiny!!) Since the only remaining corner of my balcony is where some potted plants live, I just need the GRILL version of this table! ;^)
I have a very similar product from IKEA but it seems to have disappeared from their website. Hopefully it comes back, because it was a great deal-- $20 for a sturdy metal table. (see http://tinyurl.com/obvruy)
@Laura: I have mine on a wrought-iron railing. The width of the part that sits over the railing is adjustable, and the table adjusts to a couple of different angles, which is helpful.
i want one of those.
anyone know if the one mudphud linked to is still available in store? that is exactly what i need, and $20 sounds a lot better then $70... especially for something not used as much
hmmm me again, looks like it is still listed on the Ikea Canada website... in white and black, would really like one...
Would be nice if these came in a matching wood color or something that just looks a little less.......folding card table-esque.
Like the idea though. Ideal for my small space too.
This is great for a place with nice outdoor scenery. I would like to put one of those on my balcony in my cabin upstate.
Ugly but useful
I considered one of these for awhile, but finally decided that using a prefab shelf the length of the patio was just as space-efficient (if not more so), a bit more versatile, and a lot cheaper (under $30 for the whole project). Here's a pic of our tiny patio- the 12" deep shelf is right up against the banister, and the barstools slide perfectly underneath. Plus, being up a little higher means you have a better view. And it's definitely prettier than white plastic and stainless steel tubing.
Gahh... Get that thing out of the way so I can enjoy the gorgeous rail. ;)
On most balconies though, you wouldn't miss seeing the concrete/stock metal rail, so this is great.
Wow, this sure is cool. I am moving into a place with a narrow balcony - too small for a bistro.
I have to agree, its UGLYYY. I dont so much mind the metal, but white plastic, ew.
I have a dark blue metal one from Ikea (Canada)and I really like it.
I never even thought of a folding table on the deck. What a GREAT idea. I bet there are all sorts of varieties one could come up with. I think I have a weekend project coming up.
Nice idea, wish I had a balcony ...
Simple, practical and cute looking gallery table for small space.

Is anyone aware of any compact or folding bar stools that may be a good pick to go along with this table?
I had purchased one of these and it rusted out within a season. I tried returning it and the company was not willing to take it back or replace it. I'd stay away!
