There are just a few things the can divide the general public into two camps. For example: Baz Luhrmanns' Moulin Rouge! (seriously, people either passionately hate it, or watch it religiously. There's no in-between). After seeing these "hand soaps" from Foliage on Contrary Garden's blog, we're thinking they may elicit the same kind of love-it-or-hate-it response.

Here's our two cents: If we saw a collection of these doll-sized hand soaps sitting on a sink, we'd laugh but then have nightmares about it later. How about you?
Each of these sets comes with ten hands that range from 1/2" to 2" tall in various formations and skin tones. All the soap is handmade and made of goat's milk and vegetable glycerin. Available at Foliage for $17

It's just creepy. No other comment need be made.
they are so freakin' creepy, but I kinda like them. I would like theat someone else' house.
something is wrong with my keyboard! That was supposed say 'I would like them at someone else's house.'
wwooo, i love those. I have been wanting them for a while now. Creepy is good sometimes.
love moulin rouge... think those soaps are weird. it would be like using little babies hands. gross.
I love them! Creepy, yes, but in a good way.
I still hate Moulin Rouge!!! Sorry.
I've seen these before...I think they are terrifying...
creepy. if you've ever seen the movie Lake of Fire, you will not want these soaps.
loooooooove the baby hands, dislike moulin rouge. "passionately hate" is a little strong, but i didn't get the hype.
omg, funny but way too creepy to have in my house! Though perfect for a halloween party, I can just imagine people's reactions.
Creepy. I watched the "Talking Tina" episode of The Twilight Zone at much too young an age.
Got a kick out of Moulin Rouge, though!
i love em!!! i've been wanting to order them for.like.ever. broke, waah. they are creepy and i love creepy. nothing to it. boring sucks. go for weird!
Hey, I went to school with Marie Gardeski! I think these are awesome. I mean, it's just soap; can it seriously creep you out? Not me, anyway.
I think it's just brilliant. I'd "hand" them out as gifts. :)
They're awesome! Love, love, love!
i have these in my bath room and love them.
Love 'em. Agree with Aggie927 I can think of half a dozen people I'd gift with these. Some of them would be creeped out but that would be part of the fun ;)
Kind of a neat art piece, I especially like that they're different colors. HOWEVER, can you imagine using them? They'll turn into slimy melted hands with broken fingers. Gaahhhh. No thank you.
Love them!
CREEPY! I have seen these before and every single time it has elicited that stomach churning creepy meter. It may matter if you have children of your own or not. I might have found them amusing before I had kids. Now they are just CREEPY!
I can't get my credit card out fast enough...I love these! I'm already imagining all the bad puns in my house. "Can I HAND you some soap? Do you need a HAND in the bathroom? This soap is so HANDY." Hell, yeah.
so fun!
I can see the humor in it...although, I'd have nightmares about the damned things coming to life in the middle of the night. Not so cute.
Chris Hansen might take offense to you washing yourself with these
I love these! I only have one sink in my apartment and people often mistake the dish soap squirter and hand soap squirter, but if the hand soap was surrounded by little soapy hands.... I'm so getting these.
It's like there are babies trapped in the wall and reaching their wee arms to escape. I like the bizarre often enough, but, as MariannaV stated above, I get the "stomach churning creepy meter" when I look at them. Would DEFINITELY get them for a Halloween party, though.
As far as Moulin Rouge goes.....I really didn't enjoy it. Yet, practically all the girls in my freshman dorm LOVED it, and not only did they watch it all the time, but frequently broke out in impromptu Moulin Rouge song. Gah.
creepy.
I was sort of meh about Moulin Rouge, but didn't hate it. Does that make me abnormal?
oh very creepy.
I gave this as a gift to my sister when she was pregnant, but I do have a special sense of humor. I'm pretty sure they immediately went into the trash can after I left. :)
LOVE THEM. And yes, they're a little creepy, but I love them anyway. I'd be inclined to group a few of them in strange places -- like in the spice rack in the kitchen, or on the bookshelf in the living room...
The kitsch factor would eventually get to me, but at the moment, I LOVE THEM. WANT THEM.
DO NOT WANT.
these are HILARIOUS and would have as an exhibit vs. actually using.
Those things are creepy as hell. I wouldn't be able to close my eyes in the shower if they were sitting in the soapdish.
Very Disturbing!
i love them - so oddball. of course, anyone coming out of the bathroom would have to comment on them - which would be the whole point!
I pretty much love them.
I am cracking up--love those hand soaps!
I wanted to walk out of the theater during MRouge, but didn't because my pregnant friend (who had been on bed rest for weeks until she finally got the "get out of jail" from her doc) was dying to see it, so I stayed with her. Her kid turned out normal, and I think she'd love these, too, knowing her sense of humor.
OneWallKitchen- I thought of Talking Tina too!
This is creepy!
When I was a kid, my sister left a fashion doll in the back yard. My dad didn't notice it until after he'd run over it with the lawn mower. My friend and I were staining the deck and she painted all the little doll parts with red. This is the friend for whom I would buy these soaps.
I vote creepy. Actually what it reminds me of are the little handprint or footprint pins the pro-life activists would offer at church to those who made donations to their organization. It's hard to see this and not look for some some sort of political message about abortion or children. I'm guessing the artist/designer isn't actually trying to make a political statement, so I think to an extent these function as sort of a Rorschach test.
...I actually liked them until I read through all the comments. Then I looked at it again and got images of dying babies in my head. wth
Fun but too scary...
