Evan B. Harris' Babe and the Butcher
We're starting to see a pattern. Folklore and folk art seems to be the hot new thing in the Bay Area, with three different shows currently following some variation of this theme.
Perennial favorite of bloggers and design conscious shoppers alike, San Francisco flower shop/design store Rose and Radish's current store theme is (modern) Folk.
Diana Fayt, San Francisco ceramicist extraordinaire, has a show up at Candy Store in the Mission called Folklore.
And over at Johansson Projects, our favorite Oakland gallery, Evan B. Harris and Lawrence LaBianca currently have a joint show up titled Anatomy of Folklore.
So, is it something in the water? The collective unconscious at work? Whatever the reason, you won't see us complaining about an influx of such great work around such a good theme.
