Veronica Press/Jen Thomas writes about her limited edition board game:
"For Rent" is an artist's book and game based on my experiences that span twelve years of my life as a renter with no fewer than twenty-six roommates and ten different residences. I couldn't avoid having neighbors with Tourette's Syndrome and drug habits, living with couples and an obsessive-compulsive, or sharing space with roaches and mice, but with any luck you'll be able to reach home ownership with only a fraction of my mishaps. . .
"Your upstairs neighbors have bands play in their living room on a regular basis. You swear that a guitar player will come crashing through your ceiling at any moment. Move forward one space so you're not sitting on the sofa when that happens."
"Burglars ransack your apartment twice before your landlord finally installs bars on the doors and windows. Stay put since you're saving money to replace your stolen stereo."

Okay this game sounds really cute, but for $600!!! I know it took a lot of work to make and all, but it is a game, I would be afraid to play with it and ruin it. I just keep thinking about the condition of my monopoly board.
Nice art project, but as a renter, I can't afford to pay $600 for a board game...
