Oh, men and their cars! Such a cliche, yet one that rings true to life for many. Rather than hide your love of our four wheeled friend, why not proudly display it in a more subtle way than perhaps, oh I don't know, parking your car in your living room? Here is a roundup of some automobile inspired art, both originals and prints, to adorn your walls.
TOP ROW (FROM LEFT TO RIGHT):
1 - We don't have a source on the car photo, but blowing up a car scene from a movie (perhaps Bullitt or Mad Max) would make for a great art piece. This interior was photographed by Dan Hertzel and found via emmas designblogg.
2 - Kevin Cyr painted a series of 20 vans found on the streets of Brooklyn. Original paintings can be purchased through White Walls SF and some of his prints can be purchased through 20x200.
3 - The 'Van Day Out' Wall Dot features a photograph by Claire & Jeremy Weiss. It measures almost 3 feet in diameter and is removable and reusable. Available via Pony Rider.
4 - The City Rain series by Bill Sosin is comprised of photographs Bill took from behind rain soaked windows in cars. Rain Light, shown here, can be purchased through Cyanaa.
5 - Liz Kuball photographs the details of California that she didn't anticipate (it's not all sunshine and palm trees) after a cross country move. Untitled (Santa Barbara) is available via 20x200.
BOTTOM ROW (FROM LEFT TO RIGHT):
1 - Scott Yeskel's 'Samecity' by Scott Yeskel, available from Print Shop.
2 - Over The Edge/Ooh Child by Tim Green, available from Print Shop.
3 - Under Wraps Print by Leah Giberson, available via Little Paper Planes.
4 - Sunlight and Yellow, no.2 by Jen Zahigian available via Etsy shop Roadside Photographs.
5 - Parked via Etsy shop Heroic Beer.

I hadn't really thought of car inspired art before, but I like classic cars and I imagine that would be a really good theme.
I also really like the red and white striped pillows on the green couch!
Chris Thorson, a graduate of the San Francisco Art Institue, has some great auto inspired art as well!

My brother had a bunch of framed pictures of classic cars up on his wall for a while, cut out of a calender.
He slowly replaced them with sports pictures but man, when he moves out for college, I think I'm going down to my parents' house and switching them all back!
We got my father - a classic-car enthusiast - a painting from this artist's "Rust in Peace" series. The texture of the painting makes you want to touch it!

My friends dad is an amazing artist! He paints scenes of once beloved vehicles that have now come to rest and rust in the folds of nature. I immediately thought of him and his art after reading this page.

I love car-themed art! I love you for posting this! I feel so much less alone now. :)
Can anyone tell me about the cool table in the first photo? BTW, I love everything in the first photo.
I'm dying to figure out the source/artist of that first car photo from "emmas designblogg." If anyone has helpful hints, it would be MUCH appreciated!
Ditto on the source of the photo. It's absolutely gorgeous, and I'd love to see more of that person's work!
i'm a fan of matthew porter's auto "photography." i blew up one of his jumping cars and pinned it up in my cube at work. everyone stops and asks about it.

Agreed on the photo. Fairly obsessed with finding out what it is from.
I large picture of a Citroen rally car mid-race is the first thing you see when you come into my and my husbands home. I love it. We also have a very cool poster from the 1992 Detroit Grand Prix in our living room. http://posterkraze.com/shop/images/Grand-Prix-1992.jpg
If I had to guess, the first photo looks like a still from Vanishing Point, I think he drove a dodge challenger.
Just watched Vanishing Point, not from that. :-)
The photograph in the first picture is by an artist called Richard Heeps. You can buy prints from his website: http://www.richardheeps.co.uk/browse/rnr/fs_56.html
I'm a little late to this party, but want to second the request for info on the table in the first photo. Any ideas?
I love the theme, and the pieces in this collection. Thanks so much for including my "Sunlight and Yellow, no.2" photograph. Now, to check out more of Richard Heep's work...
