Attention crafters and DIY devotees: put down the glue gun and listen up! For the Makers is a new subscription service that delivers craft supplies straight to your door. On the second Saturday of each month (for a $29 fee, of course) you will receive a box of supplies and instructions for creating four to six unique projects. You can follow the detailed how-tos for each project on the web site (and in the box) or let your imagination run wild and have at it solo.
Now these are obviously not the prices you would pay if you headed out to the craft store yourself, but For the Makers says, you get to "head straight to the fun part." This service looks like it could be a neat idea for the new or light crafter, as the projects looks pretty easy and fairly simple and are along the lines of a DIY kit. It could also make a sweet gift! A gift of supplies for four to six projects might just make the aspiring crafter in your life swoon.

I need a service that will take away craft supplies! I'm guilty of constantly getting some bits of whatever and declaring "I can do something with this!". Which is why I have stacks of fabric, paper, yarn, canvas, etc...
That's a really cute gift idea - wish I'd heard of this a month ago...
@MMEPATTY, I'm totally with you on that!
I love the idea, but after looking at their website (and especially their blog) it seems like all the projects are pretty...well, girly. Which is nice and all, but not really what I'm into. Does anyone know of a similar service that focuses more on making cool housewares or knick knacks that aren't glittery? You know, something a young couple might enjoy doing together on the weekend? I can't see me or my fiance sitting down to make frilly cases for sunglasses...
Just to follow up on this post: I subscribed to this service in April and cancelled in the beginning of June and have been charged every month even though I cancelled my order. That makes 4 months I was charged for for items I did not receive. DO NOT sign up for this.
