Tech For Those Who Love to Sing in the Shower

I'm not ashamed to admit I enjoy belting out tunes in the shower when I think nobody is listening, especially since shower acoustics make me sound like an American Idol contestant (or at least I like to imagine). But what fun is singing solo when there are options to have the whole band play along!

At first glance the $40 Shower Tunes looks like a normal 72" x 72" shower liner. But embedded in the curtain is a waterproof speaker system and a waterproof pouch designed to house an audio-equipped mobile device. The control pouch has a standard audio jack and power switch to connect to a tablet, mp3 player, or phone. Touchscreens work through the protective curtain so it's easy to swipe to find favorite songs to sing along to while showering.

Those seeking a more "immersive" experience while bathing should check out the Sony Xperia Tablet Z, a new 10.1" tablet with a wet twist. Check out the video above: a man enjoys a nice bath while reading and watching a movie with his tablet...submerged! Just be careful not to accept a FaceTime or Skype video call!

And then there's the $149 Kohler Moxie, a showerhead and wireless speaker mashup released last year (now $50 less than the launch price), designed specifically for showering the bathroom in sound via Bluetooth from up to 30 ft away with a 2.5 gallon per minute spray. The speaker component is held in place by magnet and can be be removed to use/carry anywhere before and after showertime.
