Name: Ford Thomas (15 months)
Location: Cincinnati, OH
Favorite Family-Friendly Place To See or Thing To Do Here: We took Ford to see the Shepard Fairey exhibit at the Cincinnati Contemporary Arts Center. He absolutely loved it because the images were large and graphic. We think it's really important to expose him to art as early as possible. There is also a kids' section on the 6th floor of the center, so he was able to run off some steam. Newport, KY is right across the river, with an awesome aquarium and lots of kid-friendly activities.
Best Tip for Traveling with Kids: Take lots of crayons, colored pencils and pads of paper in the car. I've learned to draw many of the characters from his favorite books, which always makes him laugh on long trips. Also, a snack mug packed with dried organic fruit has become our best friend on the road. Finally, I change his diaper in the trunk of the car whenever possible. I hate those nasty changing tables in the public restrooms. Here's hoping it doesn't scar him for life!
Favorite Way to Make it Feel Like Home: I take his favorite "magic quilt" with us whenever we travel, and line the pack-and-play with it. It smells like home, and helps him calm down in an unfamiliar environment.
An Item you MUST Take With You While Traveling: The "Marpac Dualspeed Sound Machine 980a For Baby." It's a very small white noise machine that puts him to sleep in a hotel room within minutes.
Thanks Kristen!

I want to go there, too! Is that Patti Smith in the painting?
That is such a cool mural! Honeyhaze, yup I think that is Patti Smith alright :)
Cinci is great - another MUST, IMO, is Scotti's Italian Restaurant. MMMM. Wish I had a big ol' plate right now.
speaking of good food in Cincy, if you're headed that way check out Ambar! Best Indian restaurant ever. AND as far a kid friendly things go; The Cincinnati Museum Center has a ton of family friendly exhibits, history, science, and childrens museum all in one place = super cool!!
